Ruska 2 is an atmospheric and comprehensively equipped round log cabin built of exceptionally sturdy logs. Ruska 2 cottage is located at the root of fell Kuer next to the Pikku-Kaupinjärvi lake, close to the services of the village of Äkäslompolo. A separate cottage, a quiet courtyard and close proximity to services guarantee a relaxing holiday. The terrace offers views to the fells, which you can also enjoy directly at the dining table. When the circumstances are right, the Northern Lights appears dancing over the fells, which can be admired directly from the window of the cottage or from the courtyard of the cottage. From the tracks next to the cottage (allowed for dogs) you can get directly to the best cross-country ski trails in Finland. In addition, the trail connects to an illuminated trail after about 1km of travel. From the cottage you can also go directly to the fell Kuer conquest expedition. Ylläs also offers spectacular mountain bike trails to ride both in summer and winter. On the outer wall of the cabin there is a water inlet and a hose with which you can conveniently rinse the bike after the trip.
Ruska 2 is a real bird wathcers dream. Directly from the terrace and window of the cottage you can watch the birds on the lake. For example, the same swan couple arrives every spring for nesting in Pikku-Kaupinjärvi lake. A couple of otters, as well as occasionally a beaver, appear at the lake to tinker. Binoculars should therefore be packed with you to monitor birds and other creatures. On the opposite shore of Lake Pikku-Kaupinjärvi you will find the Konijänkän Kotipiha, which provides horse tours, both husky and reindeer rides, but just visiting the farm is a fun experience where you can feed horses and reindeers.
The interior of the cottage with a large fireplace made of natural stone as the center of the fireplace exudes an authentic cabin atmosphere. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed. In the loft there is more sleeping space for three beds. The cottage has 4G wireless internet connection which allows, for example, to work remotely comfortably surrounded by fells and logs. Heating and, if necessary, cooling is conveniently handled by an air heat pump. In frosty temperatures, the fireplace and electric radiators provide additional heat.

Ruska 2, Kaupinmaja and Kaupinpirtti are adjacent cottages next to Pikku-Kaupinjärvi lake, so you can book nearby cottages for larger groups if necessary.

Tight cancellation policyIf the guest cancels at least 30 days before the start of the rental period, the paid rent will be refunded, excluding the service fee of the service provider. If the guest cancels at least 7 days before the rental period begins, 50% of the paid rent will be refunded, excluding the service fee. The service fee is non-refundable. For bookings cancelled after this period, no rent will be refunded.

Other rental termsInstructions for the cabin will be delivered immediately after booking confirmation. Key details of the cottage will be provided 24 hours before the start of the rental period. Final cleaning and bed linen are not included in the rental price if the services have not been ordered separately at the time of booking. If no final cleaning has been ordered, the tenant is responsible for the final cleaning and final cleaning instructions will be provided at the booking confirmation. Firewood is included in the rental price. The cabin is available from 16:00 on the day of booking and until 14:00 on the day of departure. If the final cleaning is ordered, the cabin will be handed over by 10:00 on the day of departure.
