The ski track can be reached from the courtyard area. A well-maintained trail network runs through the stunning landscapes of Kainuu. The ski center Ukkohalla is located about 25 km and the Saukkovaara slopes about 30 km from Paljaka. Near the apartment there is a lake with fishing opportunity. Hepoköngäs, one of the highest waterfalls in Finland, is located about 21 km from Paljaka. The waterfall has a height of 24 meters, it is worth visiting. During the summer, Paljakka landscapes have well marked hiking trails, also the FAQ hiking route passes close by. The nearest grocery stores are located in Ristijärvi 25 km and Puolanga 32km. Basic food can be obtained from Paljakka House about two kilometers from the apartment.
