Welcome to the enchantment of Lapland! Lapland Log Chalet Ukkokelo cottage is a magnificent and high quality log cabin located in Luosto next to the Pyhä-Luosto National Park.
The cottage is decorated in style and can accommodate up to 12 people. There are four bedrooms and in addition the cottage has a cozy living room and dining area (with high ceilings) and a well-equipped kitchen. The sauna is quite large and the walls in the sauna are also made of coils. Toilets can be found on both floors.
Both bedrooms on the ground floor have bunk beds, with a down bed about 130 cm wide that can sleep two people. The upper beds of bunk beds of about 70 cm have room
for one.Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with 2 x 80 cm wide beds. In addition, the upstairs lobby has 2 x 80 cm beds
for two.The cottage has a free fiber connection (100M) with Wi-Fi/WLAN access point (to be installed in autumn 2024).
You can leave the cottage yard for hiking trails. which will take you directly to the beauty of the fells and forests, where you can breathe the fresh northern air and admire the magnificent landscapes. For skiers, skiers and fishermen, the area offers plenty of opportunities. On winter nights, you can see the magical dance of the Northern Lights in the sky.
Luosto has a number of well-maintained ski trails and ski slopes, suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers. Many freeriders also come to the area year after year and enjoy the possibilities of the Pyhä-Luosto mountain range. You can reach the tracks and skinks almost directly from the cottage yard. A ski bus is 350 metres away from the cottage, which can take you not only to the slopes of Luosto but also to Pyhätunturi, as well as to Rovaniemi Train Station and Airport.
It is easy to combine your holiday with a visit to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, where you drive by car in just over an hour. There is also an amethyst mine nearby, one of the few amethyst mines open to visitors in the world
.Next to the cottage is a pond, where you can go to the natural beach to swim directly from the sauna. The pond also has Luosto's official swimming beach, which can be reached from the cottage directly along the path.
