The cottage offers the perfect escape for anyone who needs a break from the busy everyday life and wants to immerse themselves in the lap of nature. The cottage can comfortably accommodate four overnight guests, and the separate sauna building has room for two or three additional guests. The area offers great opportunities for fishing, hunting, berry picking, mountain biking and hiking – the beauty and peace of the wilderness are always present here. Come and enjoy the silence of nature, clear waters and an authentic wilderness atmosphere!
The Värriöjoki River is part of the Yli-Kemi single permit area for lure fishing. Next to the wilderness cottage is the Kemi-Kuro grouse hunting permit area of Metsähallitus. The wilderness cabin is part of a 19.4-hectare forest property. The renter of the cottage has the right to hunt in this area.
The wilderness cabin has blankets and pillows, but the tenant must bring sheets and towels. The cottage has a two-burner gas hob for cooking. There are cutlery for six people and the necessary pots and pans. Heating is provided by an Upon cast iron stove and another stove with a glass door. The lighting is powered by solar power.
The sauna water is carried from the river and the domestic water is taken from the swamp near the sauna. The quality of domestic water is not examined annually, so we recommend boiling domestic water.
On the riverbank there is a small underground cellar on the riverbank, which works well. Waste can be left at the eco take-back point in Martinkylä.
Pets are allowed in the cottage, but prohibited in the sauna and sauna chamber. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas.
The sauna has a Kota Luosto wood-burning stove with a 30-litre hot water jacket. The sauna chamber is heated by a Jotul stove with a glass door.
The phone works poorly near the cottage. When you return about 700 meters back on the road, you can get a good connection if necessary. Due to the remote location of the cottage, maintenance does not inspect the site after each customer. The cleaning of the cottage is taken care of by the customer during their stay and when leaving. If the cottage is not cleaned or there are other complaints about it when you arrive, contact the landlord immediately. If the site is left uncleaned, an invoice for the cleaning will be sent afterwards.
