Sondby is a wonderful summer house at the southern tip of Porvoo, in the village of Sondby.
Sondby is a memorable destination for its observation towers, Native American tents, several ponds, and incredible vegetation. There are many planted rhododendrons and azaleas in the area, and swamp bogs and bog willows grow in their place. Here you can also see natural animals such as deer, ducks and other seabirds. Sondby is located about a mile from the seafront. There are several buildings in the area. The center of the district is the main building with a spectacular observation tower. The observation tower offers great views of the cottage area and further afield. In addition, there is a guest house, a sauna building, a wood shed and a wooden shed. We also have a dart board and a swing!
The main house has three bedrooms, an alcove, a living room, a washroom and toilet, a dining area and a kitchen. The main building has sleeping quarters for seven people. The guest house has an atmospheric fireplace, a bed for two and a sofa bed for two. The sauna building has a dressing room and a traditional washing sauna with a wood-burning stove. In front of the sauna building there is a large terrace where you can take a dip in the pond. There is also a hot tub on the terrace, which is available for use throughout your stay. On the shore of the pond you can also find a canoe with which you can row around the island in the pond.
At the southern tip of the area you can find an authentic Indian tent” Tipii” where it is nice to spend atmospheric moments with a barbecue and relax.
