"Castillo" is Spanish for "castle". Here, our guests feel like kings in their own castle. The name itself hints at the well-equipped and high-quality nature of our apartment. A clean, functional, and cozy apartment always awaits our guests. And if something is not to your liking upon arrival, we will rush to fix it immediately. We offer our guests 24/7 telephone service, which assists with any possible issues during your vacation – around the clock if needed.
Castillo Hirvas 7 (A, B, C, and D) is a bright (large windows facing south) and spacious complex of two semi-detached houses located on the southern slope of Kaunispää. The buildings are adjacent to each other. The terraces face south and offer a view of the fell forest. The apartment is particularly well-suited for longer stays – even as a remote work location. For longer stays, please request a separate offer!
The distance to the center of Saariselkä is approximately 1 km. The apartments in both semi-detached houses are identical, mirror images of each other. Each apartment is 67 square meters (+ a small loft that can accommodate two people if needed). The apartments have two double bedrooms. Each apartment's sauna section has one shower, and each apartment has one toilet.
The apartments have a good sauna section where you can experience the Finnish sauna enjoyment in all its splendor during your vacation, even every day!
The semi-detached houses are located in the middle of wild fell nature. In the apartments, the unique nature of Saariselkä comes right inside. The apartments are versatilely furnished. Each apartment has a soapstone fireplace in the center of the living area, creating soft warmth throughout the apartment when needed. Each apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, both in terms of dishes and appliances. Some apartments have a large fridge-freezer, while others have just a large refrigerator. The apartments have free internet access and a smart TV.
The Saariselkä mountain biking, snowmobile, and cross-country skiing trails pass almost right by the corner of the building. The ski slopes are 1.5 km away. Saariselkä's official toboggan run is 500 m away. All winter activities are therefore within walking distance!
The apartment has a lockable outdoor storage where you can store equipment. The apartments are easily accessible by bus from the airport or Rovaniemi. The bus stop is 200 meters away. All apartments have their own parking space with an electrical outlet and plenty of room for other cars.
Pets are allowed at Castillo Hirvas. We charge a separate pet fee of 30 € / pet. It is possible to rent baby equipment such as a cot, high chair, etc. for the apartment.
Our guests' safety is also an important matter for us. Each bedroom and the living room have interconnected smoke detectors. The apartment has readily visible fire extinguishing equipment. Emergency exits are clearly marked, and safety instructions are visible on the apartment door.
It is possible to rent several apartments as a single entity. Together, the apartments can provide accommodation for 24 people. This makes them perfect for a larger group or several families who want to spend a holiday together but also value privacy. If you need several apartments, please contact us for a separate offer.

Attention! The weekly or daily price shown on Nettimökki is for rent only. A final cleaning fee (90 €) is added to the rental price. It is possible to add linen sets to the reservation (18 € / person). In addition to standard Finnish bed linen, the linen set includes a large and small towel / person and a kitchen towel for the kitchen. Guests can also bring their own linens if they wish. It is absolutely necessary to use either Castillo's or your own bed linen in the beds!
