"Castillo" is Spanish for "castle". Here, our guests feel like kings in their own castle. The name itself hints at the well-equipped and high-quality nature of our apartment. A clean, functional, and cozy apartment always awaits our guests. And if something is not to your liking upon arrival, we will rush to fix it immediately. We offer our guests 24/7 telephone service, which assists with any possible issues during your vacation – around the clock if needed.
The spacious and bright apartment is centrally located close to everything in the heart of Saariselkä. However, the apartment is in a peaceful location. Everything is within easy reach: the grocery store, restaurants, gym, massage therapist, equipment rental shop - but also ski trails, mountain bike trails, the sledding hill, the ski resort, or just the peace of the wilderness in Urho Kekkonen National Park.
Kelotähti is the perfect base for mountain biking and cross-country skiing enthusiasts! The building has excellent facilities: the possibility to store bikes in a lockable and heated spacious garage. There, they are also comfortable to maintain in any weather. The building has a well-equipped ski maintenance room, with lockable apartment-specific ski equipment storage cabinets.
From the garage, you have direct access to Saariselkä's magnificent mountain bike trails and ski tracks. The snowmobile trail runs in front of the building. The official Saariselkä sledding hill is 300 meters away. The ski resort is also not far away. An ice hockey rink is also about 2 km away. So, all winter activities are right next door!
The apartment consists of two spacious double bedrooms, a large bright living area, and a high-quality kitchen. Of course, the apartment has a stylish and large sauna area. The apartment has two toilet rooms. The balcony faces north, so during the dark hours, you can enjoy the Northern Lights from your own balcony. It is possible to order baby supplies for the apartment for an additional fee, such as a cot, high chair, etc.
The apartment has a stylish sauna section where you can experience the Finnish sauna enjoyment in all its splendor during your vacation, even every day!
The apartment is suitable for people with reduced mobility. Access to the apartment is without any stairs (only a few small thresholds). The apartment has plenty of space. One toilet is more spacious, as are the shower facilities. The apartment's interior doors are 80 cm wide (except for one bedroom, which is 110 cm). The apartment's exterior door is 90 cm wide.
The apartment has a free 200 Mbps fixed internet connection, so remote work is conveniently done from the apartment. The apartment is luxuriously decorated and stylish, as you can see from the pictures.
The bus stop is in front of the building. A taxi can drop you off at the door. It is possible to rent a heated garage space from the building's basement (€100/week). It is possible to reserve a parking space with an electric plug in the yard (€50/week), with electric car charging available. NOTE! Parking spaces in the yard and garage are limited! There are also free parking spaces nearby.
Sustainable development is important to us! In the Castillo apartments, sustainable development is taken into account by, among other things, properly recycling the waste generated in the apartment and reducing the use of disposable products.
Our guests' safety is also an important matter for us. Each bedroom and the living room have interconnected smoke detectors. The apartment has readily visible fire extinguishing equipment. Emergency exits are clearly marked, and safety instructions are visible on the apartment door.
It is possible to combine multiple adjacent 4-person apartments in the building into a single booking. This makes the Castillo Kelotähti complex ideal for, for example, several families who want to spend a holiday together but also value their own peace and privacy. In total, there are 4 four-person apartments available, located next to each other on the same corridor. In addition this apartment is one floor above. Attention! The weekly or daily price shown on Nettimökki is for rent only. A final cleaning fee (90 €) is added to the rental price. It is possible to add linen sets to the reservation (18 € / person). In addition to standard Finnish bed linen, the linen set includes a large and small towel / person and a kitchen towel for the kitchen. Guests can also bring their own linens if they wish. It is absolutely necessary to use either Castillo's or your own bed linen in the beds!
