Jaspis cottage is a renovated and re-furnished property approx. 6 km from the centre of Saariselkä, in the holiday cottage area of Hangasoja. In addition to the tranquil location, Hangasoja flows right in front of the cottage, which has a permanent source for water collection even in winter, adds to the wilderness spirit. Therefore, there will be no running water in the cottage and sauna except when carried by the muscles themselves.
The spacious hut has a fireplace and a dining area. The sofa can be spread out as a bed. There are two separate sleeping alcoves separated from the rest by curtains and each alcove has new beds for two. Above the sleeping alcoves is a sloping and low loft with two mattresses. Steep stairs lead to the loft.
In a separate kitchen you will find all the necessary equipment for cooking and a drain for dishwater. Spring water can be used as household water as for washing dishes, but drinking water is recommended to be brought separately. The use of spring water as non-commercial water is at the customer's own risk. The cabin has an electric burning toilet. The same building also has an electrically heated sauna, but the washing water must be heated in a wood-fired cauldron.
In the courtyard there is a place for heating and in the parking lot of the cottage (approx. 100 m) there are car heating poles for two cars. Snow work between the parking area and the cottage is handled by the customer himself. Bed linen, towels, firewood and departure cleaning are included in the accommodation price. The Saariselkä area has a fantastic ski network, ski and snowboard slopes, winter walking and hiking trails to UK Park is a short drive away. As are services in Saariselkä, Laanila, Kakslauttanen and Kiilopä
